From the airport to Amira District: Tulum or Cancún
There are two airports for Tulum: Tulum airport (TQO), closer, and Cancún airport (CUN), with many more flights. These are the ways to get from each one to Amira District on Av. Cobá, with the prices reported in 2026. Transport prices change often: treat them as a guide and confirm before you get in.
Before you book your flight
Several airlines are leaving Tulum airport. Aeroméxico suspended its operations there on September 30, 2026, and Volaris announced it will suspend all routes to and from Tulum from January 7, 2027. Other international airlines have cancelled or reduced flights. Check that your airline still flies to Tulum on your dates; if not, Cancún has far more options.
From Tulum airport (TQO)
Airport taxi
The most direct option. Fares of around MXN 1,700 (about USD 90 to 120) to the hotel zone have been reported. Confirm the price at the counter before you get in.
ADO bus
From the airport to Tulum town, around MXN 207 and about 50 minutes. From town, take a taxi or a colectivo to Amira District (see "the last mile").
Private transfer
Book it before you arrive. Vehicles that pick up passengers at the airport pay an access fee; ask whether it is included in your quote.
From Cancún airport (CUN)
ADO bus
From Cancún airport to Tulum town, between MXN 420 and 475 depending on the source, and 2 h 15 to 3 hours on the road. Then a taxi or colectivo to Amira District.
Private transfer
Door to door, booked in advance. The most comfortable option if you land at night or with a lot of luggage; ask for the total price in writing.
Rental car
If you rent a car, keep in mind that Jaguar Park has no public parking and parking near the beach is scarce.
The last mile: from Tulum town to Amira District
- Taxi: Tulum taxis have no meters; fares go by zone and rose in 2026. Agree on the price before you get in.
- Colectivo: the vans running along Av. Cobá are the cheapest option, around MXN 30.
- Uber and DiDi: not reliable in Tulum, and there have been crackdowns on ride-share drivers without permits.
